We understand that whatever it is you have in for repair with us is as valuable as it was when you first purchased it, and you wouldn’t want anything to happen to it, or anything to get lost, for these reasons we have several different measures in place to protect all parties. From the initial book in stage, to the handling of your goods and to the dispatch of your goods. We would just like to explain to you in as short of words as possible how we handle and manage our work.

Book in

1. Point of Contact

Our initial first point of contact in store is an over the counter experience but a personal experience as we will give you time to explain what your fault is, or demonstrate the fault to give us a better understanding of this, once the fault has been determined and we have given you an estimate if you require one – we then start the book in process if you wish to proceed.

2. Book In Process

The book in process is quite simple, we basically input your Full name, address & post code, telephone number. Details of the item that is being left with us such as Laptop, PC, or PS3 and so on, into our database, We also take note of the fault(s) in an accurate as possible description. The items that you have left are then Scanned into our database using their serial number, as every items unique it means that in the unlikely event of something getting mixed up we know who’s is who’s and you will always know that the item you get back is actually yours.

3. Who’s is Whos?

From our database we print of what we call “Job Sheets” these include all of the details that we just submitted into the database, each job sheet we print is automatically assigned a unique one time only job number such as “1345″, we will then get you to confirm all of the details on this sheet and Print, Date & sign the form to confirm the details – From this we then stick this to the item you have left with us, any loose items that are left with us such as chargers, bags etc, are all labelled with your job number and kept with the laptop/pc/ps3/Wii/ghds/computer/xbox at all times. The second part of this job sheet is the “Customer Receipt” which we give to you. All of this allows us to know who’s item belongs to who, and when you bring your receipt in once your job is ready for collection this helps us verify this.

4. The Repair – Where are they done?

All of our repairs are done “in-house” which means we do them all ourselves and nothing ever leaves this shop unless its in your hands. We do not outsource any repair companies for the work we do as we are perfectly capable of doing all of the repairs we advertise on our own. You will find a lot of shops in Glasgow cant actually do any of the repairs and outsource the repair work.

5. How do we know our repair is ready?

Once a repair is complete and marked “Ready for Dispatch” on the database, our database software will automatically send you a text message to the mobile number you provided during the book in process, within this text you will be reminded of the job number and the final cost (which is always agreed on before work is carried out so there are no surprises), and our opening hours. As we use an automated system and a commercial text message system there is no number that appears on your mobiles screen and just “TechBytes” will be displayed.

6. Receipts.

Receipts.Your receipt will have details of your repair and the work we carried out, a breakdown of parts used and how much labour you were charged. If you have lost your book in receipt, and wish to collect your repair, you may be asked for proof of text message confirmation, Valid Identification, or to produce the original receipt.   We feel that this keeps us right and keeps you right, it also protects us and you, and your property. If you have any further queries about this please contact us on 0141-959-3888.

Insurance

We are fully insured via Allianz Insurance Plc, which covers employer liability & public liability, and also covers your property that we hold in our store for you. Our certificate is on display in store at all times, and is available to view if you wish.
