Terms and Conditions for Personal Computers and Repairs

  1. When a PC is returned to the branch for inspection or repair it MUST be returned with all packaging, driver/installation discs, instruction manuals, licences/serials and a proof of purchase ª.

The 1 year warranty is a return to base warranty covering hardware, parts and labour only. Software faults, corruptions or conflicts will be subject to a charge.

  1. Corruption of the operating system caused by 3rd party software, hardware or user error is subject to a minimum £15 charge.
  2. Where the part requires replacement, TechBytes Glasgow may, at their discretion, replace the part with an item of similar specification
  3. Where a system requires installation or re-installation of an operating system or other copyrighted software, TechBytes Glasgow will only do so on the production of the original media and licence/serials and assurance from the customer that they will only be used in line with the software issuers own EULA.
  4. Where a customer returns a system for repair or testing, the customer will be responsible for delivery to, and collection from, our premises.
  5. Systems should be booked in for a minimum of two days to allow for proper diagnosis and testing to be carried out. where the customer is unable/unwilling to book the system in for this time, they do so at their own risk as we will be unable to carry out full testing of the machine.
  6. TechBytes Glasgow accepts no responsibility for the loss or corruption of data on systems booked in for repair/upgrade. We would advise that all data should be backed up prior to any work/inspection being carried out on it. All irepplacable data should be backed up by a dedicated media/software solution and should involve some redundancy.
  7. Any system booked in for repair and not found to have the specified fault, a minimum charge of £20 for inspection fees will apply.

Terms and Conditions for Component Warranty Returns

  1. All components are supplied on the understanding that a qualified engineer will fit them.
  2. All items must be returned complete with all cables and accessories in full packaging with a proof of purchase.ª

All items are subject to testing before replacement. Any goods not found faulty will not be replaced and a £10 testing fee will apply.

  1. Any item found to be faulty within 7 days of purchase will be replaced or refunded at the current price. Items older than 7 days will be replaced from stock if available or returned to the manufacturer for replacement.
  2. Monitors and Printers will be subject to a manufacturers inspection. Please ensure you fill out all warranty cards/online forms upon receipt of your goods.
  3. Operating Systems and all other software are provided “as is” by TechBytes Glasgow. TechBytes Glasgow cannot and will not be held responsible for conflicts, incompatibilities or improper use/installation.
  4. Self built systems are not covered by the TechBytes Glasgow system warranty. The builder assumes responsibility for the the fitting and configuration of the parts. Also the builder assumes responsibility for selection of correct parts.

Any component bought which is not suitable or incompatible MUST be returned with all of its packaging, driver/installation discs,instruction manuals,licences/serials and a proof of purchasea..

Used/opened/fitted goods accepted for return with no fault are accepted at the companies discretion and will be subject to a 20% restocking fee. No cash refund will be offered. Only a store credit note , for use within 28 days, will be offered. Goods which are returned unopened within 7 days may be eligible for a cash refund. All decisions are at the discretion of the management.

  1. Opened media will not be accepted for return. This includes optical discs, paper, pens and compatible ink cartridges.
